Pit Stop 🏁 St. Louis Children’s Hospital Table Tops Event

I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of this years tabletop designers for St. Louis Children's Hospitals’ Annual Table Tops Event at The Ritz Carlton. I was honored to curate the perfect table top for this event. After a 2 year hiatus of in-person events, the Children’s Hospital Foundation brought back the beloved luncheon.

Everything from the tablecloth to the place-cards at each setting eluded to the 2006 blockbuster movie, Pixar Cars. An elegant twist on the animated film with desert vibes and of course the Cars themselves brought this tablescape to life!

Weinhardt’s black sequin tablecloth portrayed the pavement of the new road built by Mater through Radiator Springs. Gold accents in the chargers, flatware and glassware represent the Piston Cup that Lightning McQueen was racing for. The place-cards, specially made by Gateway Classic Cars’ very own graphic designer, simulated the billboards across Route 66. And, one of my favorite details of this table, the Athen’s Silver Band China from Weinhardt brings in the checkered flag element of the cars/racing theme.

Front and center, of course, is Radiator Springs itself! Some of the most famous businesses from the little fictional town made their debut in the ’Lou! Including Flo’s, Ramone’s and The Cozy Cone. My inspiration for the focal centerpiece was Luigi’s leaning tower of tires that is situated right outside his Casa Della Tires shop. Floral Play’s gold Harlow stand added height and the gorgeous, desert vibes floral arrangement situated in a 10” tire added the perfect touch to this tabletop. Encompassing the whole centerpiece was a faux “dirt track” made of kinetic sand, just like the dirt track that McQueen practiced on with Doc for the Piston Cup! Tow Mater, Lightning McQueen, Sally and all the Radiator Springs folk were placed around the dirt track next to their respective business signs and surrounded by succulents, cacti, air plants and vibrant floral - bringing the Arizona desert feel to the tabletop itself.

Details, Details, Details ✨

When I say that no detail goes left unturned at my events, I mean it. My brain works with meaning. Whether it be a floral piece with a story or a pattern that has a deeper representation, the details bring everything together. That's what makes my events so special. The meaning behind every little detail that tells a story. It's not just an event, it's an experience.
