Guest Blog Series: Styled Soirees

I am so excited to write my first guest blog with a very special someone, my cousin - Brooke Markovich 💗💗💗 She has started up her own little side gig called Styled Soirees and I couldn’t be more proud!

After participating in a few of my styled shoots I was involved in, I was ecstatic when I got the text message “I think I’ve decided I want to fully get into wedding planning.” 👏👏 She created her Facebook group - Styled Soirees, is currently planning her very first styled shoot all on her own and killing it!

Q: Tell me a little bit about yourself and why you started Styled Soirees.

A: Hello, my name is Brooke Markovich and I am the founder of Styled Soirees! I have a pretty abnormal life and love to keep myself busy. I work 3 jobs alongside Styled Soirees and hope to open a coffee shop in the next year or so. I've been modeling for about 4 years now and have been involved in styled shoots for a little over a year. I started Styled Soirees so I could take all of my favorite parts of styled shoots and make them that much more fun, inviting, and productive. I cannot wait to see what the future of Styled Soirees brings!

Q: How long have you been involved in styled shoots?

A: I have been involved and in love with styled shoots for a little over a year now. I started out by modeling for shoots sporadically then transitioned into the role of host/planner. I am currently in the process of planning my first shoot and I couldn’t be more excited!

Q: What made you want to start Styled Soirees?

A: I chose to transition roles and start Styled Soirees mostly from my love for the wedding industry. I love the community that the wedding industry has created for everyone from brides to styled shoot hosts to wedding vendors. I have such a passion for organization and planning so when I got into styled shoots I realized I could combine my two loves and make the most of this opportunity.

Q: What is your favorite part about a styled shoot?

A: Although it is very hard to choose just one thing, I have to say my favorite thing about a styled shoot if I am modeling is getting to make the host's vision come to life and get to play pretend in love for a day! If you asked me what my favorite part of a shoot is when I am the planner, I think it would be honing in on the details and the little things that pull the whole shoot together.

Q: Tell me more about your upcoming shoot with Styled Soirees.

A: The theme for my upcoming shoot is Modern Hollywood Glamour. I love the old Hollywood vibes but wanted to give it a 21st century facelift and tweak it to include more current trends. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears is going into this shoot but I cannot wait for it to all come together and make it worthwhile in the end! A very important component of my shoot is that I really want to not only get all of those beautiful photos but also make it a truly fun experience for everyone. I find that when you enter the setting of a styled shoot, where you generally don't know many of the people you’re working with, that it can be hard to get out of your shell and really enjoy the experience. I want to make it so everyone involved is completely comfortable and ready for a long fun day. I will have three sets of models, nine photographers, and roughly 15 different vendors participating in the day so it's going to be a big one!

Q: Do you have plans for another styled shoot? If so, what are they? Theme? Location? Etc.

A: Although nothing is yet set in stone, I am so excited to say that I am in the process of planning another shoot for October of this year! I have a general idea of what I'd like to do theme wise but still have some deciding to do. I'm in the very beginning stages for this shoot but AO will definitely be the first to know!

Q: What does the future of Styled Soirees look like? Your future in the event industry?

A: The future of Styled Soirees is something I have put much thought into, I have a lot of eggs in my basket right now and keep myself very busy. I have so much love for this industry and I hope to still be planning styled shoots when I am old and gray, but I would love to take on wedding and event planning full time as well as get under the stationery umbrella! The next few years are going to be so exciting and I can’t wait to get working on all of my ideas and plans for the future.
